By default all e-mail is setup to be forwarded to the main user account for a particular domain name.
For example, for:
domain: mydomain.com
username: johnnie
All e-mail @mydomain.com is setup to forward to the main e-mail account johnnie@mydomain.com.
This can easily be changed using either of the below options:
1. Setting up additional
POP e-mail accounts;
2. Setting up e-mail forwarding accounts;
3. Changing the default e-mail forwarding address.
Articles with more information are available for each of those options.
E-mail Functions E-mail can be setup to do any of the follow:
1. Forward to an outside address (e-mail forwarding)
2. Arrive at a local address (
POP e-mail account)
3. Send an automatic e-mail address to the e-mail sender (Autoresponder / Infobot)
Spam Filtering and Virus Checking Virus Checking-
All local e-mail accounts have Virus checking on the server level. Virus signatures are updated on a daily basis and we ensure that e-mails are 100% filtered for known viruses. Althought we offer antivirus checking on the server, we still urge customers to take use of Desktop Antivirus software for added security.
Spam Filtering-
Spam filtering can be configured for individual
POP e-mail accounts through the control panel's
POP E-mail Account section. Three levels of filtering are used: Low, Meduim, High filtering. Filtered spam can either be completed delete or can be forward to another
POP e-mail account for later review (recommended.)
